Reason #7384093924732 I Love Portland

I've heard mumblings about the Portland Cello Project since before I even moved to Portland. I didn't pay too much attention. Besides the fact that I'm a huge music fan, I've never gotten into classical or instrumental music. I respect it and I think it's beautiful, but it's rare I would ever start listening to this genre.

But, then on a whim (I am unemployed, you know), I started to do a little research on these guys. And, my mind was blown. I seriously can not wait until I can see them live and I purchased their album.

I have so much insane happy love for my new city and the fact that this exists here just adds to the giant hug I want to give Portland every single day.

Post And Run

On my birthday last year. I've been a bit homesick recently and missing the sunshine.

- Dodger seems to be feeling much better. I'm still babying him and he's getting his regimen of white rice, boiled chicken, pumpkin and Pedialyte - but yesterday he had a really good day and I'm hoping that it continues.

- I also blog here. It's a bit more personal and you'll see some more creative writing there (sometimes), but if you are interested in what else I care about beyond a healthy lifestyle and my pets - jump on over there.

- Speaking of being homesick, the Coachella line-up was just posted. Beyond Palm Springs being one of my favorite places ever to vacation, Coachella has always been one of the things I have looked forward to attending every single year. And this year, I think the line-up is better than it has been in years. The first year I attended in 2004, probably had the best line-up ever - but this year's is a serious close second. I'm sad to say that unless I get a job quickly, I don't think attending this year's festival is in the cards for me and it's really bumming me out. And making me homesick. If I can't swing attending Coachella this year (I'm still working on it, believe me), I do think a beach visit in within the next few months is in order. I haven't seen my family (or much sunshine) since Thanksgiving and it's starting to wear on me a little.

- My training this week has been a big fat fail so far. Between Dodger being sick and not getting sleep, I just haven't gone on a run since Monday. Unacceptable. I'm going to be making up for it big time over the next few days.

- I've decided I'm ready to get my body back. More on this later.
